MAN engines are trusted worldwide for their engineering quality, long-lasting durability, and impressive fuel economy. They are used in vessels, power generation, and heavy-duty vehicles across multiple sectors, where dependable performance is essential. To ensure these engines continue running efficiently and to extend their working life, effective oil filtration is critical. One of the most reliable methods available is centrifugal oil filtration, which provides strong protection against wear and helps maintain the smooth, consistent operation of MAN engines. This article explores why this filtration technology plays such a vital role in keeping them at peak performance.

In the volatile world of maritime operations, equipment reliability is vital. For a Norwegian world leader in RORO shipping, and for Ugland (a family-owned shipping and offshore enterprise operating worldwide), ensuring optimal engine performance across their fleet is essential. That’s why both companies have turned to Scanvi-Interyards AS to upgrade their vessel oil filtration systems with IOW Group technology.

Overview: MAN B&W 6L28/32HP on a RORO Vehicle Carrier A client undertook a trial period with our IOW MP400 Centrifuge , which was installed as a retrofit on a MAN B&W 6L28/32HP engine. The objective was to assess the performance differences and determine whether IOW Group's separation capabilities could enhance engine reliability and performance. Prior to the installation of IOW Group's MP400 , the engine had been in operation for over 67,000 hours, rendering it highly susceptible to wear and degradation. Consequently, it becomes imperative to remove as much harmful particulates as possible to prolong engine life, as well as extend primary filter life to minimize maintenance requirements.
