The Installation

A customer's YANMAR 6N80L-ZN engine underwent an upgrade, installing an IOW MP200 Centrifugal Filter which replaced an outdated FM200 centrifuge previously used.

The transition to the next-generation technology is remarkably straightforward with our bolt-off, bolt-on design and coupled with our CentriClean SCU0002 remote monitor, delivers advanced efficiency in removing harmful particulates from the engine.

The Results

Following 130 hours of operation, the previous-generation FM200 centrifuge eliminated 1.3kg of sludge. In stark contrast, within an equivalent runtime, the IOW Group MP200 showcased its prowess by removing 1.6kg of sludge - a 25% increase in efficiency within the same time frame.

This means improved engine cleanliness, enhanced performance and prolonged maintenance intervals, ultimately leading to reduced downtime and lower operational costs!

MAN engines are trusted worldwide for their engineering quality, long-lasting durability, and impressive fuel economy. They are used in vessels, power generation, and heavy-duty vehicles across multiple sectors, where dependable performance is essential. To ensure these engines continue running efficiently and to extend their working life, effective oil filtration is critical. One of the most reliable methods available is centrifugal oil filtration, which provides strong protection against wear and helps maintain the smooth, consistent operation of MAN engines. This article explores why this filtration technology plays such a vital role in keeping them at peak performance.

Keeping engines running efficiently takes more than regular oil changes and the occasional filter swap. The real cost of engine maintenance often hides in plain sight. Small particles build up, oil quality declines, and engine components begin to wear faster than they should. It all leads to more downtime, higher costs, and avoidable repairs. Centrifugal oil separators offer a smarter and proven alternative. These simple, robust devices clean your oil more effectively and help your engine run better for longer. No fuss, no gimmicks, just quality engineering that saves time and money.
