Reporting to: Production Manager


Hours: 37.5 per week. Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 1:30pm.


Job Summary:


Safely set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines, completing machining to a high standard to contribute to the delivery of a wide range of products. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Set and operate machines to produce components on a variety of machine types to include but not limited to CNC Machining Centres and Lathes, manual mills, lathes and general assembly.
  • Produce and manufacture components from drawing specifications and identify where improvements in function, efficiency and quality can be achieved. 
  • To ensure the quality standards are maintained, liaise with colleagues, and report any improvements and suggestions for change to the Production Manager on a regular basis. 
  • Self-check components made to ensure accuracy and that parts adhere to company standards and drawing specifications. 
  • Maintain a consistent standard of work and performance in line with company standards and Health and Safety regulations. 
  • Perform all duties relating to the postition held and additional tasks as directed by the Production Manager. 

Essential Skills: 

  • Experience in setting and operating Lathes and Mills.
  • Experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Kowledge of conventional machining principles and numerical controls fundamentals. 
  • Ability to accurately read drawings and layouts.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills. 
  • Ability to manage own workload. 
  • Methodical thinker.
  • Problem solving.
  • Excellent team player but also confident working solo. 
  • Track record for delivering to tight timescales with a focus on customer, quality and delivery.
